I see how reimagining the character, perhaps as a child from an underrepresented community, could have framed the thought experiment in a way that more clearly celebrated the idea without appearing to excuse Schrödinger himself. I admit that it’s a perspective I hadn’t considered.

While I can’t unmake the choices we (illustrators, editors, publishers, etc.) already collectively settled on, I can certainly work to bring this perspective into discussions for future projects and advocate for these kinds of representations.
